CP Trap Club News
2011 - 2012 Creighton Prep Trapshooting
Well, trap season is officially here. For those of you who are new to trap shooting, if there had been a meet scheduled for this snowy Saturday, it would not have been cancelled...we would have competed.
However, practice is cancelled for Sunday, February 5th. Not that I wouldn't have liked to shoot but I think the roads will still be a little dicey.
Many of you have been shooting drills for the past few weeks. Next Sunday, February 12, you will be shooting for scores. We want to evaluate where you are. We still have not started deciding squads and next week's scores will help us in that process.
There is a change to our shooting schedule this year . The second shoot will be at Papillion Gun Club. You know the parking situation there. This shoot will be a bit of a logistics challenge. I think we will have assigned spaces for tailgating. Watch for more information on this.
Enjoy the day off tomorrow, get caught up on your home work, spend time with your family, and Freshman, get some sleep after Freshman Retreat and I will see all of you next week.
The Eastern Cornhusker Trapshooting Conference (ECTC) had its annual meeting today and we set the shoot dates and fees. Good news - the fees stayed the same. Our shoot schedule has changed a little. Here is the North Division Schedule.
There will be a small change to our preshoot routine this year. As you all know the squad captain on each round is allowed to call for one target to "view". In the past we have always asked you to raise your gun to track the "free" target. From now on we will not raise our guns to track the target. The squad captain will still call for the target and you will still be expected to watch that target to gauge the flight path but you will not raise your gun on this target.
Special thanks goes out to Jim and Shelli Pavlik for doing an excellent job on the Chili Feed.
New trap apparel is available to anyone interested. We are excited about the new design this year!
